Pension Application for George Small
State of Kentucky
On this 17th day of July 1820 personally appeared in open court of the County of Garrard being a Court of record for the County aforesaid, George Small aged sixty four years the 26th day of December last resident in the County of Garrard aforesaid who being first duely [duly] sworn according to law doth on his oath declare that he served in the revolutionary war as follows, that he served in the year 1776 in captain Jonathan Jones Company Commanded by Colo Debarre in the Pennsylvania Line, (1) and was in the Battle of the three rivers (2) during that year, in the year 1777 he the said Small enlisted in the New York line for and during the war under Capt. MCrakin commanded by Colo Goose Vansckickel [VanSchaick] (3) and he was taken prisoner near fort Edwards in the summer 1777 and detained until the end of the war.
And I do solemnly swear that I was a citizen of the United States on the 18th day of March 1818, and at that time and ever since a resident of the County of Garrard and that I have not since that time by gift sale or in any manner disposed of my property or any part thereof with intent thereof so to diminish it as to bring myself within the provisions of an act of Congress entitled an act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land a naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary War passed on the 18th day of March 1818 and that I have not nor has any person in trust for me any property or securities contracts or debts due me nor have I any income other than what is continued in the Schedule hereto annexed and by me described which is as follows to wit:
Four [cows?] two [barrows?] thirteen pigs worth fifteen dollars, my wearing cloathes of small value occupation none—too old—family none , having the use of only one arm. (Signed) Geo. Small
